They say communication is the key to long lasting relationships. It is the bridge that connects us, the tool that helps us understand, the channel that lets us express, and the key that unlocks our conflicts. But communication is not always easy. Communication is a dynamic and complex process that involves many layers, such as language, speech, hearing, nonverbal cues, and context.
Communication is also shaped by many aspects, such as culture, gender, emotions, and personality. Therefore, communication can be difficult, even broken, and distorted, even though it has been with us for ages. When we do not communicate well with the other person we enter an altered state of connection, losing the emotional bond and closeness that we once had. We might feel distant, detached, or indifferent.

Clothes are part of the way we express our personality and emotions to the outside world. It’s a visual language that resonates with our inner world. Sometimes soft and dreaming, sometimes sharp and bold, the outfit speaks of us. Language is not far from a shield that protects and sets our standards toward others. The slighted misinterpretation can lead to altering the connection between us and the milieu. Such a strong feature to cover and uncover one’s persona is also particular to clothes and this continuous pendulation confers the dynamic of personality. Connecting and altering could be faces of the same coin that we throw to choose the best of our direction.
Romanian philosopher Emil Cioran said “True contact between beings is established only by mute presence, by apparent non-communication, by that mysterious and wordless exchange which resembles inward prayer.” AlterConnect capsule collection honors this genuine volatility that makes communication an essential and unpredictable process.
